PANTA RHEI 2016

we are riding on wooden bikes

Sádlík cooperates with Tomas Bata University in Zlín and we provided materials for the PANTA RHEI design project for the second time. Their works can be viewed from 27 August to 25 September 2016 in Hvězda cinema gallery in Uherské Hradiště.

Sabina Psotková and Vaclav Vondroušek were inspired by the interview about cycling, which is an important leisure activity in our company, and they decided to create bicycles. Some models designed solely for the downhill discipline show, apart from the indisputable aesthetic values, also elements of purely technical innovation. The completely new idea of variable biaxial suspension should be of the primary focus. It consists in structural adjustment of torsional rigidity of the frame using a set of calculations and analyses of torsional behavior of bent solid beech wood under extreme load. Significant, especially flexible and variable deflection of the vertical planes of the front and rear wheel was previously considered a defect of the frame referred to as the "ladder". The new concept, however, provides active suppression of unwanted centrifugal forces in banked corners at high speed.

Designers in Sádlík have previously worked on a pushbike for children, but their model does not yet provides any purely technical innovations. Well, there is always room for improvement...
