PANTA RHEI - flowing for the seventh year

Exhibit

Vladimir Kovařík and Richard Vodička from the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of Tomas Bata University in Zlin organized the first International Art Symposium named Panta Rhei in 2009. This year we have seen the seventh edition of this cross-border dialogue that offers the invited artists an opportunity to realize their spatial art objects.

The Zlin faculty provided the symposium participants with facilities and technological equipment in its Product design studio for creating their designs and most works.

The authors come with a basic idea of what they want to create, while the creative process is influenced locally by range of materials and technologies available.

With the support by manufacturing companies Mmcité + woodcité, cité + construction, Pelz - stínicí technika, Sádlík ohýbaný nábytek and DEKOR, the starting design material was wood (local and tropical), iron, aluminum and various types of polycarbonate.

The central theme has traditionally not been defined, the participating authors are inclined to the abstract world of geometric or organic structures.

This year's symposium participants included, besides the organizers (Vladimir Kovařík, Richard Vodička), Sabina Psotková (CZ), Marcin Michalak (PL), Mariusz Kosiba (PL), Csaba Fürjesi (HU/A), Juraj Sapara (SK) and Jozef Suchoža (SK).

Like every year, the studio technician Miloš Cettl has been an indispensable member of the team and without his help a large part of the exhibited works would look very different - thank you, Miloš !!!

The International Art Symposium was held August 21 to 29 in Zlín
